In the 1990s, Jane Fonda’s Aerobics videos inspired many to `workout at home.’ The actress and fitness icon who is 82 now, recently took to social media to share her fitness latest Aerobics videos.

A jog down memory lane. Three decades ago there were very few gyms around the world and were mostly occupied by men. Jane Fonda’s Workout VHS released in 1982 and sold more than 17 million copies around the world. Women grooved and moved to music be it on audio or video tapes.
Circa 2020 – Move to TiK Tok and Instagram -The Grace and Frankie star looked incredible while in quarantine, as she encouraged viewers to take part in her routine.
Jane released the fun video in a bid to bring awareness to climate change.
The actor urged fans to pick the style of her days. Jane Fonda went online on TikTok and Instagram urged her fans to follow this style of fitness. Through this video, the actor also urged her fans to join her in an initiative to fight against the climate crisis.
In the video which Jane Fonda shared, she is dressed up in her red and black gym attire. She is lying on a gym mat ready to start her routine. She is guiding her followers for a home sequestration. The actor then showed some basic exercises.
Then the clip abruptly cuts to her dressed in a red coast style dress. In the video, the Grace & Frankie actor said: “You know there are a too many work-outs happening on television or computers. What I want you to do is to work-out for the planet. There is a real climate crisis happening, it’s a real emergency”.
Fonda, who reportedly struggled with bulimia and poor body image for decades, “had the opportunity to establish an inclusive body image by presenting different types of bodies,” As writer Woitas argued, it was the bodies of the women who were featured in the workouts that became “the arguments that sold the videos.”
In a recent interview to a magazine, veteran actor says that she underwent plastic surgery because she believes if one doesn’t look good they are not going to be loved. The actor who was part of the 2015 comedy-drama Youth has always been vocal about her facelift procedures and breast implants. She admitted she went under the knife because of her insecurities.
Many fans were moved by her message, many other social media users reminisced over her workout routines.
One person commented: “We need you too! We need your workout live videos for us ladies over 60!”
Another social media user said: “What can’t this woman do,” while another person added: “OMG. You are in such great shape.”
The TikTok comes after Jane revealed earlier this year that she has sworn off any future cosmetic procedures and will fully embrace her age.
“I can’t pretend that I’m not vain, but there isn’t going to be any more plastic surgery – I’m not going to cut myself up anymore,” she told Elle Canada.

Jane Fonda’s videos included warm-ups and cool-downs. Sporting Leotards, warmer socks, the tall and athletic actress played to the gallery with her well modulated voice. They targeted specific muscle groups. They could also be played on command, and fast-forward or rewind the programs at their leisure.
But while Fonda verbally made a point to prioritize health and fitness over appearance in her videos, she and others who entered the aerobics space stopped short of physically representing different body types on screen.
